Outside the CIA's Directorate of Operations, there probably aren't that many folk whose litigation tactics include breaking into the other side's home, rifling through their legal filing cabinets, then deliberately leaving them wide open so the opposing party could see that the CIA's goons had been there (Police Report).
That's what happened on May 3rd, 2006 - same day my secretary called a magistrate judge's chambers to schedule a teleconference in this case (antoher story in of itself) and same day I contacted a few people from the congressional intelligence oversight committees. I get home from work, and my door, which I'd double locked that morning, is unlocked, and a filing cabinet dedicated solely to this case is left wide open. No valuables taken - just a warning shot or something.
Not sure if that's supposed to be an intimidation tactic, a "fuck you," further indicia of the Directorate of Operations inability to exercise proper command and control over their goons, or another clue of the CIA's complete lack of respect for the rule of law or judicial process.
More on that story, coming soon. |
